September 30, 2022 - Noite Europeia dos Investigadores - MUHNAC

The Noite Europeia dos Investigadores (NEI) has as main objective to bring scientific research closer to citizens through facilitating communication platforms adjusted to the general public. The theme of the 2022 edition of NEI was SCIEVER - SCIENCE FOR ALL - Inclusion and Sustainability | SCIENCE FOR EVERYONE - Inclusion and Sustainability.

In 2022, the NEI took place on September 30, from 17:00 to 24:00. In Lisbon, it took place at MUHNAC - National Museum of Natural History and Science and at Jardim do Príncipe Real. The program was mixed, with a version with face-to-face activities and a parallel program entirely online.

The MOVING CITY project participated with the action entitled “Revisiting the Battle of Alcácer Quibir 444 years later” and counted, in addition to the presence of most of its researchers, with the participation of members of ARCAHP - Association of Recreators and Collectors of Historical Weapons of Portugal that recreated the military of D. Sebastião's army.

In addition to the presentation of the project and the provision of information and materials for teachers and elementary school students, it was possible to contact and try out replicas of weapons used in the battle of Alcácer Quibir.
